A C-32 contractor applies protective coatings and installs safety items on the flat surfaces of parking lots, roads, airports and game courts. That includes wheel stops, guard rails, striping, raised markers, arrows and signs. Surface prep before coating is part of the class, but repaving is not.
CSLB moved old D-60 Striping work here. Most C-32 customers are property managers, HOAs and public agencies; a homeowner might hire one to seal and stripe a shared driveway.
Typical work under C-32
- Parking-lot striping and stall layout

Work that needs a different license

- Temporary cones and flagging: C-31 Construction Zone Traffic Control
- Lighted parking signs: C-45 Sign
Tips before hiring
- Ask how long the lot or driveway must stay closed while coatings cure.
- For an HOA or business, ask whether the layout includes accessible stalls and signage.
- Get the coating product and number of coats in the contract.
- Ask whether the crew will clean and patch cracks before coating, or only seal over them.
