C-60 Welding Contractor license in California

Updated November 1, 2026 · Official name from CSLB's classification list

A C-60 contractor joins and fabricates metal using gas or electric heat. It is a pure process license: CSLB's description is about the welding itself, not any one product.

You might hire a welder to repair a broken gate frame, a cracked steel post or a worn stair stringer. When welding is part of a bigger trade, such as structural steel erection or ornamental railings, the trade's own license usually covers it.
